Project
For this I needed to create a fictitious magazine, including the magazine front cover and two inside spreads.
The audience for "Natural Living" are individuals interested in wellness, nature enthusiasts, eco-conscious travelers, and those seeking to explore and benefit from natural healing environments.
I’ve leveraged earth tones and natural imagery in my design to resonate with the magazine's focus on nature and wellness. I tried to keep my font selections modern yet soothing, enhancing readability while aligning with the tranquil theme of the magazine.
Balancing the aesthetic appeal with the informational content was a challenge. I wanted to ensure the magazine was both visually striking and informative. Additionally, selecting images that accurately represent the content and were high quality was crucial and required careful consideration.
The biggest challenge was ensuring the cover copy remained legible against a high-contrast background. I wanted the text in white, so I carefully balanced readability with design integrity. I experimented with alternative colors and various methods for applying a background. One such attempt is showcased below the final mockup. Ultimately, I chose this version because it provided a cleaner, more refined look.
For this project I mainly worked inside of InDesign to create the magazine layout. I used Photoshop to prepare the images for the project and to create a mockup of the final Magazine cover and spreads.
